Historic districts are generally composed of buildings and structures, but they may include objects and sites. These features are identified by Unique Site Numbers, or USNs. Each USN record includes the EligibilityDesc field, which denotes the USN’s eligibility for listing on the New York State Register and National Register of Historic Places:Listed: The USN is listed on the State and/or National Register of Historic Places, or is a National Historic Landmark.Eligible: SHPO has determined that the USN is eligible for the State and National Registers of Historic Places, either individually or as part of a proposed historic district. USNs that are currently eligible may be reevaluated as not eligible based on new information or substantial loss of historic integrity.Not Eligible: SHPO has determined that the USN is not eligible for the State or National Register of Historic Places. USNs that are currently not eligible may later be determined to be eligible based on criteria such as new information, additional research, or the passage of time.Undetermined: SHPO has not formally evaluated the USN’s eligibility or an evaluation record is not available.Not Eligible - Demolished: The USN has been demolished and is thus not eligible for the State or National Register of Historic Places.SHPO cannot guarantee the accuracy of all features.
